To get that properly hot you want roughly 4.5kW of heat, and the Harvia BC45 Electric Heater Set is the one we'd point you at. Anything between 4.5kW and 6kW will do the job, so it comes down to how it looks, how you control it and what you want to spend. A heater this size runs off a normal household supply, but it can't go in a plug socket. It needs its own dedicated circuit, much like an electric shower or oven. Whichever heater you pick, check what it needs before you buy.

A wood stove needs no electrics at all, but it does get extremely hot. It has to sit a set distance from the timber walls and benches, usually with a heat shield behind it, and something fireproof underneath in case an ember drops out. The stove instructions give you the exact distances. The walls are solid timber with no insulation layer, so it takes a bit longer to warm up.

The chimney runs up and out through the roof. This one has a curved roof, so you need a collar shaped to match the curve, otherwise rain finds its way in. The fire also needs air to burn, and the room needs a vent low down and another high up so fresh air comes in and damp gets out. Have a think about where the smoke will blow, in relation to your house, your neighbours and where you sit outside.

The Terrace Sauna needs the same fundamental barrel sauna care as the rest of the range, with some extra attention to the built-in deck terrace given its different exposure and use. After every session, leave the door open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, preventing mould and staining on the interior timber. Wipe benches down once cooled, and sand the interior lightly once or twice a year wherever contact is heaviest.

The built-in deck terrace, being a walked-on outdoor surface, should be checked periodically for general wear and slipperiness, particularly in wet weather, and treated with an appropriate decking oil or treatment on a similar cycle to the main sauna exterior.

Externally, treat the curved Spruce exterior with a wood treatment every two to three years depending on weather exposure. Given its position close to existing outdoor living space, check that water from the main structure and the attached deck both drain away properly rather than pooling near the base, since proximity to other hard landscaping can sometimes affect natural drainage patterns.

Production takes 10-12 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies. Deliveries are kerbside and unloaded using the vehicle's tail lift, so no machinery or extra help is needed on your side. For properties with tight or restricted access, we can arrange delivery on a smaller vehicle with the goods handballed off instead — just let us know your access situation before ordering.

Please have a solid, level base and clear access ready before delivery. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and once unloaded you're responsible for moving the goods onto your property.
