About

Built for a crowd, not just a couple. The Deluxe 240 XL Mulliking spans a full 240cm in octagonal Thermowood, even seating running around the entire circumference. Wood firing does real work at this scale, and the build holds that heat efficiently once it arrives. The XL designation means exactly what it says: room for family gatherings or friends joining in without anyone feeling crowded out.

A hot tub built specifically for group soaking taps into the genuinely social side of warm water bathing that gets lost in a smaller, couple-focused tub. Shared bathing has long been associated with relaxation and connection across many cultures, and a tub designed with even seating for six to eight people removes the awkwardness of a cramped group trying to fit into a space built for two or three.

The physical benefits of warm water immersion, improved circulation and eased muscle tension, apply equally regardless of group size, but the mood and social benefits of a proper group soak, genuine conversation, shared relaxation, the kind of unhurried social time that's increasingly rare, become more accessible with a tub actually built for that purpose. For households or small businesses planning regular entertaining around their hot tub, this matters as much as the physical wellness side.

The wood fired heating ritual scales naturally to group settings too, with tending the fire becoming a shared activity ahead of a gathering rather than a solo task. For glamping operators or households hosting regularly, a genuinely social hot tub experience, supported by real capacity and an even, comfortable seating layout, tends to be remembered far more fondly than a cramped or undersized alternative that limits how many people can actually relax together at once.
Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. The larger Cube format requires a little more assembly time than the smaller Icon models, so we recommend allowing a weekend and having a second person to help. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible.

Electric sauna heaters require a suitable dedicated electrical supply and are not simply plug-and-play. The power requirements depend on the heater's output and the electrical supply available at the property.

Smaller heaters may be suitable for a 230V single-phase supply, while larger or more powerful heaters can require a 400V three-phase supply. Single-phase power uses one electrical phase, whereas three-phase power distributes the load across three phases and is better suited to higher-powered equipment.

The correct supply will depend on the specific heater you choose, so the heater's electrical requirements should always be checked before installation.

Sauna heaters will normally need to be hard-wired into a correctly rated dedicated circuit with the appropriate cable, isolation and electrical protection. They should not be connected using a standard household plug or extension lead.

The final electrical connection should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations. This is important for both safety and reliable operation of the heater.

If you're based in the Leicestershire area, we can arrange the electrical installation of your sauna heater for an additional fee. Please speak to our team if you'd like this included with your sauna.

Wood-fired sauna heaters do not require an electrical supply for heating, but they do require the correct installation of the stove, chimney, flue and surrounding heat protection.

The stove must be positioned according to the manufacturer's required safety distances from timber walls, benches and other combustible materials. Depending on the stove and sauna design, suitable heat shields or other non-combustible protection may also be required.

The floor beneath and immediately around the stove may also require suitable non-combustible protection, particularly where there is a risk of embers or hot material falling from the stove.

A suitable chimney and flue system must be installed to safely carry smoke and combustion gases outside the sauna. Where the flue passes through the roof, the correct insulated chimney components, roof flashing and heat-resistant protection should be used.

Correct ventilation is also important. A wood-fired stove requires an adequate supply of combustion air, while the sauna itself needs sufficient airflow to provide fresh air, circulate heat and allow moisture to escape.

When choosing the position of an outdoor wood-fired sauna, you should also consider where the chimney will discharge in relation to your house, neighbouring properties, windows, boundaries and outdoor seating areas.

Any applicable local requirements should be checked before installation, particularly where chimney positioning, smoke control or other restrictions may apply.

A hot tub of this scale needs a slightly more organised maintenance approach given the larger water volume and surface area involved. After each session, let the firebox cool fully before clearing ash, and check the external heater for soot build-up that affects efficiency, particularly important given how much water this size needs to heat each session.

Drain and refresh the water on a schedule that accounts for the larger volume and likely heavier, more frequent group use. Wipe down the interior periodically across the full octagonal circumference, checking joints for leaks especially after periods of disuse. Given the larger surface area, budget proportionally more time for routine checks than a smaller tub would need.

Thermowood's natural weather resistance keeps exterior care minimal, though a structure this size is worth checking systematically each season rather than relying on noticing issues as they arise. A light oil treatment every couple of years maintains the original colour if preferred. Check the base and foundation periodically given the tub's weight when full, ensuring drainage continues working properly around its larger footprint.
This tub comes with a 5 year warranty for residential use and 2 years for commercial use, covering structural timber and hardware. Valid claims are assessed case by case, and we'll supply replacement parts wherever possible rather than the whole tub.
Production takes 2-4 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This tub is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies to orders over £500 covering up to one double pallet (2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m) or two single pallets (1.2m x 1.2m x 2.2m). If your order exceeds this due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode. Please have a solid base, clear access, and suitable unloading space ready before delivery. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and you're responsible for moving goods onto your property.

Built for genuine group soaking sessions

The Deluxe 240 "XL Mulliking" is built at a substantial 240 centimetre diameter in an octagonal format, sized for genuine group use rather than a couple of people sharing a quiet evening. The octagonal shape gives a more even seating arrangement around the full circumference than a simple round tub of the same size would manage, with Thermowood construction providing the moisture resistance needed for a tub that holds heated water outdoors continuously through the colder months when demand on a hot tub tends to peak.

At this scale, wood firing needs to do real work to bring the water up to temperature, and the build is sized accordingly to hold heat efficiently once it gets there, rather than losing it as quickly as a thinner walled tub of the same diameter might. The XL designation reflects its place at the top end of the hot tub range, built for households who want their hot tub to comfortably seat a group rather than squeezing people in around a smaller design that was never meant for more than two or three at once.

Mulliking suits anyone planning a hot tub as a genuine social space in the garden, whether for family gatherings or simply having enough room for friends to join a soak without it feeling crowded the moment more than a couple of people climb in. At this scale, the tub becomes a destination in its own right, the kind of feature a garden gets built around rather than added to it as an afterthought.
