Not to heat it. The stove does that on its own, which is why wood-fired tubs suit gardens with no spare electrical capacity. You may want power nearby for lighting or optional filtration, but nothing about the tub depends on it.

Most owners drain and refill every few weeks, keep the lid on between soaks, rinse off before getting in and run a simple chemical or filtration routine in between. Cooler outdoor water stays fresh far longer than a heated spa does.
