Choosing the established, standard proportions within the oval sauna range removes any uncertainty around depth variants, giving households a straightforward, well proven option suited to typical garden layouts and group sizes. The core physiological benefits of sauna bathing, improved circulation, reduced muscle tension, a cardiovascular effect comparable to light exercise, remain consistent regardless of which specific oval variant is chosen.

The twin door layout supports easier group circulation, which matters more than people initially expect when a sauna is regularly used by five or six people together. Reducing friction around entering, exiting, and general movement within a group session supports a more relaxed, unhurried experience overall, which tends to correlate with better engagement with the actual relaxation and wellbeing benefits of the heat itself.

For households who simply want a genuine, well established oval sauna without navigating multiple depth options, this standard model offers a sensible, low-risk choice. The proven proportions reflect a format that's already well suited to typical group sizes and garden layouts, making it a practical default for anyone drawn to the oval sauna's distinctive look without needing to deliberate extensively over specific dimensional variants.
Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. The larger Cube format requires a little more assembly time than the smaller Icon models, so we recommend allowing a weekend and having a second person to help. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible.

Electric sauna heaters require a suitable dedicated electrical supply and are not simply plug-and-play. The power requirements depend on the heater's output and the electrical supply available at the property.

Smaller heaters may be suitable for a 230V single-phase supply, while larger or more powerful heaters can require a 400V three-phase supply. Single-phase power uses one electrical phase, whereas three-phase power distributes the load across three phases and is better suited to higher-powered equipment.

The correct supply will depend on the specific heater you choose, so the heater's electrical requirements should always be checked before installation.

Sauna heaters will normally need to be hard-wired into a correctly rated dedicated circuit with the appropriate cable, isolation and electrical protection. They should not be connected using a standard household plug or extension lead.

The final electrical connection should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations. This is important for both safety and reliable operation of the heater.

If you're based in the Leicestershire area, we can arrange the electrical installation of your sauna heater for an additional fee. Please speak to our team if you'd like this included with your sauna.

Wood-fired sauna heaters do not require an electrical supply for heating, but they do require the correct installation of the stove, chimney, flue and surrounding heat protection.

The stove must be positioned according to the manufacturer's required safety distances from timber walls, benches and other combustible materials. Depending on the stove and sauna design, suitable heat shields or other non-combustible protection may also be required.

The floor beneath and immediately around the stove may also require suitable non-combustible protection, particularly where there is a risk of embers or hot material falling from the stove.

A suitable chimney and flue system must be installed to safely carry smoke and combustion gases outside the sauna. Where the flue passes through the roof, the correct insulated chimney components, roof flashing and heat-resistant protection should be used.

Correct ventilation is also important. A wood-fired stove requires an adequate supply of combustion air, while the sauna itself needs sufficient airflow to provide fresh air, circulate heat and allow moisture to escape.

When choosing the position of an outdoor wood-fired sauna, you should also consider where the chimney will discharge in relation to your house, neighbouring properties, windows, boundaries and outdoor seating areas.

Any applicable local requirements should be checked before installation, particularly where chimney positioning, smoke control or other restrictions may apply.

The standard Oval Sauna needs the same fundamental care as any solid Spruce sauna of this scale. After every session, leave both doors open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, preventing mould and dark staining on timber surfaces. Wipe benches down once cooled, and sand the interior lightly once or twice a year wherever group use creates the most contact wear.

The window needs only a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth. With two doors, check both seals periodically, particularly during the sauna's first year as everything settles in fully.

Externally, treat the curved Spruce exterior with a wood treatment every two to three years depending on weather exposure. Keep the base clear of debris and standing water along the full footprint, checking drainage carefully given this model's substantial size and weight.
This sauna comes with a 5 year warranty for residential use and 2 years for commercial use, covering structural timber, glazing, and hardware. Valid claims are assessed case by case, and we'll supply replacement parts wherever possible rather than the whole sauna.
Production takes 10-12 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies to orders over £500 covering up to one double pallet (2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m) or two single pallets (1.2m x 1.2m x 2.2m). Given this model's size and weight, additional pallet charges may apply and will be quoted separately based on your postcode, and forklift unloading may be required as it exceeds normal tail-lift limits (1000kg). Please have a solid base, clear access, and suitable unloading space ready before delivery, with help on site if needed. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and you're responsible for moving goods onto your property.

Oval Sauna Standard — Thermowood Garden Sauna, Reference Proportions — thermowood — angle view 1

The straightforward oval sauna choice

Oval Sauna establishes the standard proportions for the oval format at 400 by 240 centimetres, with solid spruce construction throughout delivering the same genuine thermal mass found across the wider barrel and oval sauna range. This standard sizing serves as the reference point against which the various Frodo length variants further along the range are measured, each adjusting the depth while keeping this same fundamental width and height.

The oval shape gives a distinctive curved profile without the tighter enclosure of a true round barrel, suited to anyone drawn to flowing, curved sauna architecture generally rather than the more angular cabin and cube formats elsewhere in the catalogue. Solid timber construction throughout ensures the structure performs reliably across every UK season, holding heat efficiently regardless of what the weather decides to deliver on any given week.

Oval Sauna suits anyone wanting the standard, well proven oval format without needing a specific depth variant, the kind of straightforward choice that suits most households looking for genuine oval sauna ownership without overthinking the exact configuration from the outset. It remains the natural starting point before considering whether a deeper Frodo variant might suit a larger household better.
