About

Four square metres, built square, built to last. Mattias pairs a tempered glass front with solid Spruce log walls in a terrace styled layout designed for relaxed seating rather than a purely functional sweat room. Room enough for two or three without crowding. Self assembly follows the same clear, numbered panel system used across the range, manageable over a weekend or two.

There's a meaningful difference between a sauna used in a rush, towel in hand, in and out within twenty minutes, and one used as part of a genuinely relaxed routine. The wellbeing benefits of sauna bathing, improved circulation, reduced muscle tension, a calming effect on the nervous system, tend to compound the longer and more regularly someone uses the heat, and a space designed to encourage lingering rather than rushing supports that kind of use far better than a purely functional cabin.

Heat exposure itself raises heart rate and increases blood flow in a way that closely resembles light cardiovascular exercise, and regular sauna bathers in long-term studies show improved markers of cardiovascular health over time. The privacy that this design's screening provides matters here too, since feeling genuinely able to relax, rather than self-conscious about being visible from the garden or a neighbouring property, makes it far more likely someone will actually settle into a full session rather than cutting it short.

For couples specifically, a terrace-style layout built around comfort tends to encourage shared use, sitting together, talking, simply being present in the heat rather than treating the sauna as a solo functional routine. That social, unhurried dimension is increasingly recognised as part of why sauna culture in Finland and the Baltics delivers such consistently positive wellbeing outcomes; the ritual around the heat matters nearly as much as the heat itself.
Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. The larger Cube format requires a little more assembly time than the smaller Icon models, so we recommend allowing a weekend and having a second person to help. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible.

Electric sauna heaters require a suitable dedicated electrical supply and are not simply plug-and-play. The power requirements depend on the heater's output and the electrical supply available at the property.

Smaller heaters may be suitable for a 230V single-phase supply, while larger or more powerful heaters can require a 400V three-phase supply. Single-phase power uses one electrical phase, whereas three-phase power distributes the load across three phases and is better suited to higher-powered equipment.

The correct supply will depend on the specific heater you choose, so the heater's electrical requirements should always be checked before installation.

Sauna heaters will normally need to be hard-wired into a correctly rated dedicated circuit with the appropriate cable, isolation and electrical protection. They should not be connected using a standard household plug or extension lead.

The final electrical connection should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations. This is important for both safety and reliable operation of the heater.

If you're based in the Leicestershire area, we can arrange the electrical installation of your sauna heater for an additional fee. Please speak to our team if you'd like this included with your sauna.

Wood-fired sauna heaters do not require an electrical supply for heating, but they do require the correct installation of the stove, chimney, flue and surrounding heat protection.

The stove must be positioned according to the manufacturer's required safety distances from timber walls, benches and other combustible materials. Depending on the stove and sauna design, suitable heat shields or other non-combustible protection may also be required.

The floor beneath and immediately around the stove may also require suitable non-combustible protection, particularly where there is a risk of embers or hot material falling from the stove.

A suitable chimney and flue system must be installed to safely carry smoke and combustion gases outside the sauna. Where the flue passes through the roof, the correct insulated chimney components, roof flashing and heat-resistant protection should be used.

Correct ventilation is also important. A wood-fired stove requires an adequate supply of combustion air, while the sauna itself needs sufficient airflow to provide fresh air, circulate heat and allow moisture to escape.

When choosing the position of an outdoor wood-fired sauna, you should also consider where the chimney will discharge in relation to your house, neighbouring properties, windows, boundaries and outdoor seating areas.

Any applicable local requirements should be checked before installation, particularly where chimney positioning, smoke control or other restrictions may apply.

Keeping a terrace-style log sauna in good condition is largely the same routine as any spruce cabin, with a little extra attention to the privacy screening. After each session, leave the heat room door open for twenty to thirty minutes so moisture can escape fully, which prevents mould and dark staining from building up over time. Wipe the benches down once cooled and give the interior a light sand once or twice a year wherever hands and skin make the most contact.

The tempered glass front just needs a standard glass cleaner and a soft cloth; avoid anything abrasive that could dull the surface. The privacy slat screening in the front room should be checked periodically for loose slats or fixings, particularly after stormy weather, since it's more exposed to wind loading than the solid log walls behind it.

Externally, the spruce log exterior needs a wood treatment reapplied every two to three years, with timing depending on sun and rain exposure; south or west facing sides typically need attention sooner. Treat the screening slats on the same schedule as the rest of the exterior, since they're made from the same timber and will weather at a similar rate. Keep the base of the structure clear of leaves and standing water, and check that water draining off the roof isn't pooling anywhere it could affect the lowest log courses over time.
This sauna comes with a 5 year warranty for residential use and 2 years for commercial use, covering structural timber, glazing, and hardware. Valid claims are assessed case by case, and we'll supply replacement parts wherever possible rather than the whole sauna.
Production takes 6-8 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies to orders over £500 covering up to one double pallet (2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m) or two single pallets (1.2m x 1.2m x 2.2m). If your order exceeds this due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode. Please have a solid base, clear access, and suitable unloading space ready before delivery, with help on site if needed. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and you're responsible for moving goods onto your property.

Log Sauna Mattias — 70mm Spruce Sauna with Terrace Interior, 2-3 Person — lifestyle photo 1

A considered sauna built for lingering

Mattias is a square format log sauna with a terrace styled layout, built at 4 square metres with a 314 by 334 centimetre footprint that gives it a slightly more generous depth than width. The tempered glass front brings natural light into the cabin while solid spruce log walls handle the insulation and structural work everywhere else, the same combination used across the better specified models in the wider Inmedias Res range that this sauna belongs to.

The terrace styling shapes how the interior feels rather than adding a separate outdoor terrace structure, with a layout designed around relaxed seating rather than a purely functional sweat room built only to hit temperature and little else. This makes Mattias a good fit for anyone who wants their sauna sessions to feel considered rather than purely practical, sized for two or three people without crowding even when everyone wants to stretch out a little.

As a standalone log sauna, Mattias works well positioned as a feature in its own right, whether against a garden boundary or as part of a wider outdoor seating area where it can anchor the rest of the layout. Self assembly follows the same numbered panel system as the rest of the range, manageable for anyone with basic DIY experience and a free weekend or two, with clear instructions that make the process considerably less daunting than it might first appear.
