Inside, this sauna holds about 6.4 m³ of air, about the size of a small box room. To get that properly hot you want roughly 6kW of heat, and the HUUM DROP 6kW with Wi-Fi is the one we'd point you at. Anything between 6kW and 8kW will do the job, so it comes down to how it looks, how you control it and what you want to spend. A heater this size runs off a normal household supply, but it can't go in a plug socket. It needs its own dedicated circuit, much like an electric shower or oven. Whichever heater you pick, check what it needs before you buy.

A wood stove needs no electrics at all, but it does get extremely hot. It has to sit a set distance from the timber walls and benches, usually with a heat shield behind it, and something fireproof underneath in case an ember drops out. The stove instructions give you the exact distances. The walls are solid timber with no insulation layer, so it takes a bit longer to warm up.

The chimney runs up and out through the roof. This one has a curved roof, so you need a collar shaped to match the curve, otherwise rain finds its way in. The fire also needs air to burn, and the room needs a vent low down and another high up so fresh air comes in and damp gets out. Have a think about where the smoke will blow, in relation to your house, your neighbours and where you sit outside.

The largest Thurso model follows identical care principles to smaller sizes in the range, simply across more bench and wall surface. After every session, leave the door open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, the most effective habit for preventing mould and staining regardless of cabin size. Wipe down the ergonomic benches once cooled, and sand the interior lightly once or twice a year wherever group use creates the most contact wear.

Leave the timber unsealed to allow proper moisture absorption during use. If fitted with the optional glazed end, clean it with a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth.

Externally, treat the curved Thermowood exterior with a wood treatment every two to three years, budgeting slightly more time for this larger structure than the smaller Thurso sizes. Check the door seal each season, and keep the base clear of debris and standing water across the longer footprint this model has compared with the rest of the range.

Production takes 10-12 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies. Deliveries are kerbside and unloaded using the vehicle's tail lift, so no machinery or extra help is needed on your side. For properties with tight or restricted access, we can arrange delivery on a smaller vehicle with the goods handballed off instead — just let us know your access situation before ordering.

Please have a solid, level base and clear access ready before delivery. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and once unloaded you're responsible for moving the goods onto your property.
