Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. Allow a full weekend for assembly and have at least one other capable adult available to help. Larger, heavier and multiroom models may require additional time and lifting assistance. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible. Worth running our sauna build checker before delivery day, and our heater size calculator to confirm the heater this one needs.

Inside, this sauna holds about 4.4 m³ of air, about the size of a small bathroom. To get that properly hot you want roughly 4.5kW of heat, and the Harvia BC45 Electric Heater Set is the one we'd point you at. Anything between 4.5kW and 6kW will do the job, so it comes down to how it looks, how you control it and what you want to spend. Our heater size calculator shows how we got to that and lists every heater that fits this model.

A heater this size runs off a normal household supply, but it can't go in a plug socket. It needs its own dedicated circuit, much like an electric shower or oven. Whichever heater you pick, check what it needs before you buy.

The heater gets wired straight into your electrics by a qualified electrician. Never a plug, never an extension lead. If you're near us in Leicestershire we can arrange the electrician for you for a fee, so it's all done in one go. There's more detail in our full guide to electric heater setup.

Two things worth doing before you buy: our running cost calculator tells you what a session will cost to heat, and our solar calculator works out the panels and battery you'd need if you'd rather run it from the sun.

Inside, this sauna holds about 4.4 m³ of air, about the size of a small bathroom. That's smaller than our smallest wood stove is built for, so this model really wants an electric heater. Our heater size calculator shows the working and what does fit.

A wood stove needs no electrics at all, but it does get extremely hot. It has to sit a set distance from the timber walls and benches, usually with a heat shield behind it, and something fireproof underneath in case an ember drops out. The stove instructions give you the exact distances. The walls are 40mm solid timber with no insulation layer, so it takes a bit longer to warm up and uses a bit more wood than an insulated one.

The chimney runs up and out through the roof. The chimney goes up through the roof panel, so that hole needs cutting and sealing properly. The fire also needs air to burn, and the room needs a vent low down and another high up so fresh air comes in and damp gets out. Have a think about where the smoke will blow, in relation to your house, your neighbours and where you sit outside.

Before you build, run our sauna build checker. It checks your vents, bench heights, clearances and drainage in a couple of minutes and flags anything that'll cause you grief later. Our full guide to wood-fired heater setup covers the rest. It's also worth a quick check with your council, as some areas have rules about chimneys and smoke.

The Nairn S needs straightforward Thermowood sauna care, scaled to its compact size. After every session, leave the door open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, preventing mould and dark staining on timber surfaces. Wipe down the interior once cooled, and give it a light sand once or twice a year wherever hands and bare skin make the most contact.

The glass door and window need only a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth. Leave the interior timber unsealed, allowing it to breathe and absorb moisture properly during sessions.

Thermowood's heat treatment gives it strong natural resistance to weathering, meaning less frequent exterior treatment is needed compared with standard untreated Spruce. An occasional check for surface wear is still worth doing, with a light oil treatment every couple of years if you want to maintain the original colour rather than letting it weather naturally to a silvery grey over time.

Production takes 7-10 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies. If your order exceeds standard pallet limits due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode.

Deliveries are kerbside and unloaded using the vehicle's tail lift, so no machinery or extra help is needed on your side. For properties with tight or restricted access, we can arrange delivery on a smaller vehicle with the goods handballed off instead — just let us know your access situation before ordering.

Please have a solid, level base and clear access ready before delivery. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and once unloaded you're responsible for moving the goods onto your property. Final positioning is not included unless you use our installation team. A comprehensive assembly manual is included, and self-assembly is straightforward with basic DIY skills.

Patio Sauna Hiki S — Compact Thermowood Log Sauna, Balcony-Friendly 2.1m² — thermowood — side view 2

Genuine heat in a genuinely tight footprint

The Nairn "S" proves that a serious sauna does not need a serious footprint. At 2.1 square metres, it is one of the smallest log saunas in our range, built specifically for gardens, patios and balconies where space is the main constraint rather than ambition. The thermally modified wood used throughout gives it a head start over standard spruce builds, since the heat treatment process makes the timber naturally more stable and resistant to moisture, swelling and rot without any chemical treatment. This matters in a climate that brings real rain and real frost for a good part of the year.

Inside, the rectangular cabin is laid out efficiently so that two people can sit comfortably around a wood or electric heater without feeling cramped. The walls are built from solid log panels rather than thin cladding over a frame, giving better heat retention once warm and a sturdier structure that holds up over many seasons. Self assembly is straightforward, with numbered panels and clear instructions designed for an experienced DIYer working over a weekend.

For anyone weighing up whether a small garden still has room for a sauna, the Nairn "S" is usually the answer. It sits well against a fence line, in a corner plot, or alongside a hot tub as part of a wider wellness setup, keeping both price and planning sensible. It is a genuine entry point into regular sauna use, and many owners find a smaller sauna used often beats a larger one used rarely.
