Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. Allow a full weekend for assembly and have at least one other capable adult available to help. Larger, heavier and multiroom models may require additional time and lifting assistance. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.
For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible. Worth running our sauna build checker before delivery day, and our heater size calculator to confirm the heater this one needs.
Inside, this sauna holds about 8.8 m³ of air, about the size of a small box room. To get that properly hot you want roughly 8kW of heat, and the Harvia BC80 / BC60 Electric Heater Set is the one we'd point you at. Anything between 8kW and 12kW will do the job, so it comes down to how it looks, how you control it and what you want to spend. Our heater size calculator shows how we got to that and lists every heater that fits this model.
A heater this size can usually run off a normal household supply, but it pulls a lot of power, so your fusebox needs to have room for it. Your electrician will tell you in five minutes whether yours does. Whichever heater you pick, check what it needs before you buy.
The heater gets wired straight into your electrics by a qualified electrician. Never a plug, never an extension lead. If you're near us in Leicestershire we can arrange the electrician for you for a fee, so it's all done in one go. There's more detail in our full guide to electric heater setup.
Two things worth doing before you buy: our running cost calculator tells you what a session will cost to heat, and our solar calculator works out the panels and battery you'd need if you'd rather run it from the sun.
Inside, this sauna holds about 8.8 m³ of air, about the size of a small box room. The Cozy 12 OG Wood Burning Heater is the stove we'd suggest for it, and anything from the 12kW to the 24kW will work. Our heater size calculator shows how we worked that out and what else fits.
A wood stove needs no electrics at all, but it does get extremely hot. It has to sit a set distance from the timber walls and benches, usually with a heat shield behind it, and something fireproof underneath in case an ember drops out. The stove instructions give you the exact distances. The walls are solid timber with no insulation layer, so it takes a bit longer to warm up.
The chimney runs up and out through the roof. The chimney goes up through the roof panel, so that hole needs cutting and sealing properly. The fire also needs air to burn, and the room needs a vent low down and another high up so fresh air comes in and damp gets out. Have a think about where the smoke will blow, in relation to your house, your neighbours and where you sit outside.
Before you build, run our sauna build checker. It checks your vents, bench heights, clearances and drainage in a couple of minutes and flags anything that'll cause you grief later. Our full guide to wood-fired heater setup covers the rest. It's also worth a quick check with your council, as some areas have rules about chimneys and smoke.
The Beacon 220 XL — Full Front Glass — Thermowood needs standard Beacon range care, with its wider diameter making no difference to the fundamental maintenance routine. After every session, leave the door open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, preventing mould and dark staining on timber surfaces. Wipe benches down once cooled, and sand the interior lightly once or twice a year wherever contact is heaviest.
If fitted with the optional window, clean it with a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth. Check the door seal periodically, particularly during the sauna's first year as everything settles in.
Externally, treat the Thermowood exterior with a wood treatment every two to three years depending on weather exposure. Keep the base area clear of leaves and standing water, the same fundamental principle that applies to any outdoor timber sauna regardless of diameter or specific format.
Production takes 10-12 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies. If your order exceeds standard pallet limits due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode.
Deliveries are kerbside and unloaded using the vehicle's tail lift, so no machinery or extra help is needed on your side. For properties with tight or restricted access, we can arrange delivery on a smaller vehicle with the goods handballed off instead — just let us know your access situation before ordering.
Please have a solid, level base and clear access ready before delivery. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and once unloaded you're responsible for moving the goods onto your property. Final positioning is not included unless you use our installation team. A comprehensive assembly manual is included, and self-assembly is straightforward with basic DIY skills.
