This system pairs an ultra fast Rowe Ackermann Schmidt astrograph with a high capacity CGX L equatorial mount, creating a powerful platform for wide field astrophotography. The optical design uses a four element corrector with rare earth glass to control chromatic aberration, coma and field curvature, producing tight star images across an exceptionally large image circle. It is the kind of setup that turns faint nebulae and distant galaxies into clear, detailed images without the long waits normally associated with deep sky imaging.

At f2.2, exposure times are dramatically shorter, making it possible to gather in thirty seconds what would otherwise take many minutes at slower focal ratios. That speed changes the whole experience, less time fighting tracking errors and more time actually capturing data. The short focal length provides a naturally wide field of view, ideal for large nebulae, star fields and sweeping Milky Way structures.

The ultra stable focus system keeps the primary mirror firmly positioned, reducing focus drift during long sessions. Cooling is supported by a quiet 12V fan that encourages airflow while limiting dust intrusion. Adapters are included to match common camera systems, with back focus spacing optimised for modern DSLR and dedicated astro cameras.

The CGX L mount is built to carry heavy optical tubes and imaging accessories with confidence. Large worm gears, belt driven motors and internal cabling work together for smooth tracking, accurate slewing and tidy cable management.
