About

More room, same trusted round format. Deluxe Tub 220 XL scales up to 226cm of Thermowood, noticeably more space than the standard 200 without changing the shape or feel that makes a round tub work so well. The heating arrangement is built to manage the extra water volume efficiently, not just scaled up without adjustment. Built for households who have outgrown a standard tub or knew from day one they wanted more room.

Scaling up to genuine group capacity changes how a hot tub gets used. Where a smaller tub might be reserved for a couple's quiet soak, a tub built to comfortably seat five or six people naturally becomes a social fixture, used for gatherings with friends and family rather than solo or paired relaxation. Warm water immersion's physical benefits, improved circulation and eased muscle tension, remain the same regardless of group size, but the social and mood benefits of shared bathing become more pronounced with a properly sized group.

For households that entertain regularly, having a hot tub that genuinely accommodates the actual group size that shows up, rather than one that becomes uncomfortably cramped beyond three people, removes a real source of friction. A tub that feels like a squeeze discourages spontaneous group use, while one built for the job gets used more readily and more often.

The wood fired heating ritual scales well to group use too. Tending the fire becomes something to do together, part of the build-up to an evening with friends, rather than a solo chore. For households planning their hot tub specifically around social, regular entertaining, that combination of genuine capacity and the shared ritual of wood fired heating tends to make for a far more memorable, repeatable experience than an undersized tub or an instant electric alternative.
Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. The larger Cube format requires a little more assembly time than the smaller Icon models, so we recommend allowing a weekend and having a second person to help. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible.

Electric sauna heaters require a suitable dedicated electrical supply and are not simply plug-and-play. The power requirements depend on the heater's output and the electrical supply available at the property.

Smaller heaters may be suitable for a 230V single-phase supply, while larger or more powerful heaters can require a 400V three-phase supply. Single-phase power uses one electrical phase, whereas three-phase power distributes the load across three phases and is better suited to higher-powered equipment.

The correct supply will depend on the specific heater you choose, so the heater's electrical requirements should always be checked before installation.

Sauna heaters will normally need to be hard-wired into a correctly rated dedicated circuit with the appropriate cable, isolation and electrical protection. They should not be connected using a standard household plug or extension lead.

The final electrical connection should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations. This is important for both safety and reliable operation of the heater.

If you're based in the Leicestershire area, we can arrange the electrical installation of your sauna heater for an additional fee. Please speak to our team if you'd like this included with your sauna.

Wood-fired sauna heaters do not require an electrical supply for heating, but they do require the correct installation of the stove, chimney, flue and surrounding heat protection.

The stove must be positioned according to the manufacturer's required safety distances from timber walls, benches and other combustible materials. Depending on the stove and sauna design, suitable heat shields or other non-combustible protection may also be required.

The floor beneath and immediately around the stove may also require suitable non-combustible protection, particularly where there is a risk of embers or hot material falling from the stove.

A suitable chimney and flue system must be installed to safely carry smoke and combustion gases outside the sauna. Where the flue passes through the roof, the correct insulated chimney components, roof flashing and heat-resistant protection should be used.

Correct ventilation is also important. A wood-fired stove requires an adequate supply of combustion air, while the sauna itself needs sufficient airflow to provide fresh air, circulate heat and allow moisture to escape.

When choosing the position of an outdoor wood-fired sauna, you should also consider where the chimney will discharge in relation to your house, neighbouring properties, windows, boundaries and outdoor seating areas.

Any applicable local requirements should be checked before installation, particularly where chimney positioning, smoke control or other restrictions may apply.

Caring for the larger Deluxe Tub 220 XL follows the same routine as other wood fired models, with slightly more volume and surface area to manage. After each session, let the firebox cool fully before clearing ash, checking for good airflow before the next fire. Periodically inspect the external heater and flue for soot build-up that can reduce heating efficiency over time.

Given the larger water volume, plan your draining and refreshing schedule with that in mind, since more water left stagnant for extended periods will still develop the same issues a smaller tub would, just at greater volume. Wipe down the interior periodically and check stave joints for leaks, particularly if the tub sits empty for any length of time.

Thermowood's natural weather resistance means minimal exterior maintenance is needed beyond occasional checks for surface wear. A light oil treatment every couple of years maintains the original colour if preferred. Given the tub's larger size and weight, periodically check the base or foundation it sits on for any settling or drainage issues, since a heavier, fuller tub places more demand on its supporting surface than a smaller model.
This tub comes with a 5 year warranty for residential use and 2 years for commercial use, covering structural timber and hardware. Valid claims are assessed case by case, and we'll supply replacement parts wherever possible rather than the whole tub.
Production takes 2-4 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This tub is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies to orders over £500 covering up to one double pallet (2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m) or two single pallets (1.2m x 1.2m x 2.2m). If your order exceeds this due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode. Please have a solid base, clear access, and suitable unloading space ready before delivery. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and you're responsible for moving goods onto your property.

Built for regular group entertaining

Deluxe Tub 220 XL takes the classic round wood fired format up to 226 centimetres in diameter and 105 centimetres deep, giving noticeably more room than the standard Deluxe Tub 200 without moving into a different shape or configuration that would change how the tub feels to use. Thermowood construction throughout provides the same moisture resistant performance that the rest of the range relies on for sustained outdoor use across every season.

The extra diameter translates directly into more comfortable seating for a larger group, useful for households who regularly use their hot tub socially rather than just occasionally with one or two people on a quiet evening. As with any larger wood fired tub, there is more water volume to heat, so the firebox and overall design are built to manage that efficiently rather than simply scaling up a smaller tub without adjusting the heating arrangement to suit.

220 XL suits anyone who has outgrown a standard sized tub, or who knew from the outset that they wanted a genuinely larger wood fired hot tub for regular group use rather than settling for the standard size and feeling the squeeze once more than a couple of people climb in. It is the version many households wish they had bought first, once they understand how often a hot tub gets used socially.
