Small footprint, full sized warmth. The Hiki "S" packs proper Thermowood log construction into 2.1m², built for gardens, patios and balconies where space is tight but ambition is not. Two people fit comfortably around the heater, solid log walls hold the heat efficiently, and self assembly is manageable over a single weekend. Built to age beautifully. Thermowood offers a richer finish, stronger durability, and better long-term performance.
A compact sauna that genuinely fits a tight UK garden, patio, or balcony removes a major practical barrier for households who'd otherwise assume sauna ownership requires significantly more space than they have available. The physiological benefits of regular heat exposure, improved circulation, reduced muscle tension, a cardiovascular effect comparable to light exercise, remain fully intact regardless of cabin size, so a well-built compact sauna delivers the same core wellness value as a larger model.

For first time owners specifically, starting with a manageable, accessible size like this often makes more practical sense than committing to a larger, more expensive sauna before knowing how genuinely the habit will stick. Thermowood's durability ensures the investment holds up well over time regardless of scale, giving confidence that a compact starting point isn't a compromise on longevity or build quality.

For individuals or couples in smaller properties, having genuine sauna access without needing a large garden supports building a consistent habit far more easily than if space constraints had ruled out ownership altogether. Research on habitual sauna users consistently shows that regular, frequent use drives most of the meaningful long-term cardiovascular and wellbeing benefits, and a sauna that actually fits the available space removes the single biggest obstacle to that consistency.
Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. The larger Cube format requires a little more assembly time than the smaller Icon models, so we recommend allowing a weekend and having a second person to help. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible.

Electric sauna heaters require a suitable dedicated electrical supply and are not simply plug-and-play. The power requirements depend on the heater's output and the electrical supply available at the property.

Smaller heaters may be suitable for a 230V single-phase supply, while larger or more powerful heaters can require a 400V three-phase supply. Single-phase power uses one electrical phase, whereas three-phase power distributes the load across three phases and is better suited to higher-powered equipment.

The correct supply will depend on the specific heater you choose, so the heater's electrical requirements should always be checked before installation.

Sauna heaters will normally need to be hard-wired into a correctly rated dedicated circuit with the appropriate cable, isolation and electrical protection. They should not be connected using a standard household plug or extension lead.

The final electrical connection should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations. This is important for both safety and reliable operation of the heater.

If you're based in the Leicestershire area, we can arrange the electrical installation of your sauna heater for an additional fee. Please speak to our team if you'd like this included with your sauna.

Wood-fired sauna heaters do not require an electrical supply for heating, but they do require the correct installation of the stove, chimney, flue and surrounding heat protection.

The stove must be positioned according to the manufacturer's required safety distances from timber walls, benches and other combustible materials. Depending on the stove and sauna design, suitable heat shields or other non-combustible protection may also be required.

The floor beneath and immediately around the stove may also require suitable non-combustible protection, particularly where there is a risk of embers or hot material falling from the stove.

A suitable chimney and flue system must be installed to safely carry smoke and combustion gases outside the sauna. Where the flue passes through the roof, the correct insulated chimney components, roof flashing and heat-resistant protection should be used.

Correct ventilation is also important. A wood-fired stove requires an adequate supply of combustion air, while the sauna itself needs sufficient airflow to provide fresh air, circulate heat and allow moisture to escape.

When choosing the position of an outdoor wood-fired sauna, you should also consider where the chimney will discharge in relation to your house, neighbouring properties, windows, boundaries and outdoor seating areas.

Any applicable local requirements should be checked before installation, particularly where chimney positioning, smoke control or other restrictions may apply.

The Hiki S needs straightforward Thermowood sauna care, scaled to its compact size. After every session, leave the door open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, preventing mould and dark staining on timber surfaces. Wipe down the interior once cooled, and give it a light sand once or twice a year wherever hands and bare skin make the most contact.

The glass door and window need only a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth. Leave the interior timber unsealed, allowing it to breathe and absorb moisture properly during sessions.

Thermowood's heat treatment gives it strong natural resistance to weathering, meaning less frequent exterior treatment is needed compared with standard untreated Spruce. An occasional check for surface wear is still worth doing, with a light oil treatment every couple of years if you want to maintain the original colour rather than letting it weather naturally to a silvery grey over time.
This sauna comes with a 5 year warranty for residential use and 2 years for commercial use, covering structural timber, glazing, and hardware. Valid claims are assessed case by case, and we'll supply replacement parts wherever possible rather than the whole sauna.
Production takes 7-10 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies to orders over £500 covering up to one double pallet (2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m) or two single pallets (1.2m x 1.2m x 2.2m). If your order exceeds this due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode. Please have a solid base, clear access, and suitable unloading space ready before delivery, with help on site if needed. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and you're responsible for moving goods onto your property.

Patio Sauna Hiki S — Compact Thermowood Log Sauna, Balcony-Friendly 2.1m² — thermowood — angle view 1

Genuine heat in a genuinely tight footprint

The Hiki "S" proves that a serious sauna does not need a serious footprint. At 2.1 square metres, it is one of the smallest log saunas in our range, built specifically for gardens, patios and balconies where space is the main constraint rather than ambition. The thermally modified wood used throughout gives it a head start over standard spruce builds, since the heat treatment process makes the timber naturally more stable and resistant to moisture, swelling and rot without any chemical treatment. This matters in a climate that brings real rain and real frost for a good part of the year.

Inside, the rectangular cabin is laid out efficiently so that two people can sit comfortably around a wood or electric heater without feeling cramped. The walls are built from solid log panels rather than thin cladding over a frame, giving better heat retention once warm and a sturdier structure that holds up over many seasons. Self assembly is straightforward, with numbered panels and clear instructions designed for an experienced DIYer working over a weekend.

For anyone weighing up whether a small garden still has room for a sauna, the Hiki "S" is usually the answer. It sits well against a fence line, in a corner plot, or alongside a hot tub as part of a wider wellness setup, keeping both price and planning sensible. It is a genuine entry point into regular sauna use, and many owners find a smaller sauna used often beats a larger one used rarely.
