About

Thirty extra centimetres, a genuinely different feel. Ergo 180 keeps the 205cm diameter of the smaller Ergo but extends to 180cm in length, solid Spruce construction giving real room to lie back rather than just sit upright. The barrel shape distributes heat evenly without any extra engineering required. A sensible step up for anyone who found the 150 slightly too tight.

The extra length on this model is built specifically to support a more relaxed, reclined sauna posture, which many regular users find makes a genuine difference to how comfortable and enjoyable longer sessions feel. Being able to properly lie back rather than sit upright for the full duration tends to encourage people to stay in the heat longer, and longer, more relaxed sessions are associated with deeper relaxation benefits than a quick, slightly cramped sit.

The core physiological effects of sauna bathing remain consistent regardless of bench length: heat exposure raises heart rate and improves circulation in a way comparable to light cardiovascular exercise, with regular use linked to improved long-term cardiovascular markers in research on habitual sauna bathers. What changes with genuine comfort is consistency, since a sauna that feels properly relaxing rather than slightly cramped tends to get used more willingly and more often.

For couples or small households specifically, this size strikes a practical balance: enough room for comfortable shared use without the larger footprint and cost of a group-focused model built for capacities rarely needed in everyday personal use. That balance of genuine comfort and sensible scale tends to suit the realistic, regular usage patterns of most households better than either extreme.
Delivered flat-packed for self-assembly, with free UK mainland delivery on qualifying orders. The larger Cube format requires a little more assembly time than the smaller Icon models, so we recommend allowing a weekend and having a second person to help. A solid, level base and suitable delivery access are required.

For a complete setup, select Professional Installation and choose your preferred date, allowing for the stated production lead time. We’ll then arrange the installation around your requirements, including any additional preparation or works needed to accommodate your sauna where possible.

Electric sauna heaters require a suitable dedicated electrical supply and are not simply plug-and-play. The power requirements depend on the heater's output and the electrical supply available at the property.

Smaller heaters may be suitable for a 230V single-phase supply, while larger or more powerful heaters can require a 400V three-phase supply. Single-phase power uses one electrical phase, whereas three-phase power distributes the load across three phases and is better suited to higher-powered equipment.

The correct supply will depend on the specific heater you choose, so the heater's electrical requirements should always be checked before installation.

Sauna heaters will normally need to be hard-wired into a correctly rated dedicated circuit with the appropriate cable, isolation and electrical protection. They should not be connected using a standard household plug or extension lead.

The final electrical connection should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical regulations. This is important for both safety and reliable operation of the heater.

If you're based in the Leicestershire area, we can arrange the electrical installation of your sauna heater for an additional fee. Please speak to our team if you'd like this included with your sauna.

Wood-fired sauna heaters do not require an electrical supply for heating, but they do require the correct installation of the stove, chimney, flue and surrounding heat protection.

The stove must be positioned according to the manufacturer's required safety distances from timber walls, benches and other combustible materials. Depending on the stove and sauna design, suitable heat shields or other non-combustible protection may also be required.

The floor beneath and immediately around the stove may also require suitable non-combustible protection, particularly where there is a risk of embers or hot material falling from the stove.

A suitable chimney and flue system must be installed to safely carry smoke and combustion gases outside the sauna. Where the flue passes through the roof, the correct insulated chimney components, roof flashing and heat-resistant protection should be used.

Correct ventilation is also important. A wood-fired stove requires an adequate supply of combustion air, while the sauna itself needs sufficient airflow to provide fresh air, circulate heat and allow moisture to escape.

When choosing the position of an outdoor wood-fired sauna, you should also consider where the chimney will discharge in relation to your house, neighbouring properties, windows, boundaries and outdoor seating areas.

Any applicable local requirements should be checked before installation, particularly where chimney positioning, smoke control or other restrictions may apply.

The Ergo 180 needs the same straightforward barrel sauna care as the rest of the range. After every session, leave the door open for twenty to thirty minutes to let the heat room dry out fully, preventing mould and dark staining on timber surfaces over time. Wipe down the ergonomic benches once cooled, and give the interior a light sand once or twice a year wherever contact is heaviest, particularly given this model's design for more reclined, longer use.

Leave the timber interior unsealed to allow it to breathe and absorb moisture properly during sessions. If you've added the optional glazed end, it needs only a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth.

Externally, treat the curved Spruce exterior with a wood treatment every two to three years depending on weather exposure. Check the door seal each season, and keep the base area clear of leaves and standing water, the same principle that applies to any outdoor timber sauna regardless of size within the range.
This sauna comes with a 5 year warranty for residential use and 2 years for commercial use, covering structural timber, glazing, and hardware. Valid claims are assessed case by case, and we'll supply replacement parts wherever possible rather than the whole sauna.
Production takes 10-12 weeks, plus 1-2 weeks dispatch time for pallet haulage. This sauna is delivered flat packed unless otherwise stated. Free UK mainland shipping applies to orders over £500 covering up to one double pallet (2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m) or two single pallets (1.2m x 1.2m x 2.2m). If your order exceeds this due to length, weight, or quantity, additional pallet charges may apply and are quoted separately based on postcode. Please have a solid base, clear access, and suitable unloading space ready before delivery, with help on site if needed. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only, and you're responsible for moving goods onto your property.

Barrel Sauna Ergo 180 — Spruce Garden Sauna with Room to Recline, 1.8m — spruce — angle view 1

Enough room to properly lie back

Ergo 180 steps up from the 150 to a 180 centimetre length while keeping the same 205 centimetre diameter, solid spruce construction giving meaningfully more interior room without changing the fundamental barrel proportions that make this format work so well. The extra 30 centimetres makes a genuine difference to how comfortable the space feels, particularly for anyone wanting to lie back rather than simply sit upright during a session.

The barrel format continues to distribute heat evenly throughout the curved interior, a structural advantage that comes naturally from the shape itself rather than requiring any additional engineering or ventilation tricks to achieve. Solid spruce throughout provides the durability needed for genuine outdoor use across every UK season, standing up to wind, rain, and frost without the structure suffering for it over years of regular use.

Ergo 180 suits anyone who found the 150 slightly too tight for comfortable use, offering a sensible step up in length without moving into the largest sizes the Ergo range or wider barrel sauna catalogue has to offer, a practical middle ground for personal or couple use that still leaves room to genuinely relax. It tends to be the size couples settle on once they have tried the smallest option and decided they wanted just a little more breathing room to stretch out properly during a session.
