Pergola Installation & Self Assembly
Every outdoor space is different, which is why our pergolas are designed to adapt to your project. When configuring your pergola you can choose between professional installation or self assembly, allowing you to decide what works best for your garden, timeline and budget.
The product page automatically calculates an accurate installation price based on the size of your pergola, the accessories selected and the complexity of the build. This means you receive a clear, personalised installation quotation for your exact configuration rather than a rough estimate.

Option 1 Professional installation
The simplest way to bring your outdoor structure to life. Our experienced installation team will deliver your pergola, assemble the structure on site and secure it safely to your prepared surface.
If your pergola includes accessories such as screens, panels or other upgrades, these are installed during the same visit so your outdoor space is ready to enjoy as soon as the installation is complete.
Lead times
Typical installation lead times range from 2–4 weeks. Once your order has been placed our team will contact you to arrange a convenient installation date. You will normally receive either a morning or afternoon time slot, although exact timings may vary depending on the installation schedule that day.
What installation includes
Your installation service includes delivery of the pergola, full on-site assembly, secure fixing to your prepared surface, installation of any screens or accessories ordered with the pergola, final alignment checks and a walkthrough showing you how to operate the structure.
Installation surfaces
Our installation team can securely install pergolas onto a range of suitable surfaces including concrete bases, paving slabs, wood decking, composite decking and porcelain tiles.
For porcelain tiles we use specialist diamond drill bits and install carefully. However, because porcelain varies in thickness and installation method, we cannot guarantee that tiles will not crack during drilling. Installation onto porcelain surfaces also carries an additional charge due to specialist tools and the additional time required.
Preparation requirements
Before our installation team arrives, all groundwork and surfaces must be fully completed and ready for fixing. Our installers assemble the pergola itself but do not carry out groundwork, landscaping or base preparation.
If the installation area is not ready on arrival, a return visit may be required and additional charges may apply.
Electrical connections
Our installers are not qualified electricians. If your pergola includes heaters, lighting or other electrical components that require connection to mains power, a local electrician will need to complete the final electrical connection.
Wall connections and flashing
Flashing can be added where a pergola meets a property wall to help create a weather seal. While our team can install flashing where appropriate, wall surfaces vary and we cannot guarantee a fully sealed finish in every situation. Flashing is therefore not covered under the pergola warranty.
On installation day
Please be available to greet the installation team and guide them to the location where the pergola will be installed. Our installers will confirm the final positioning and explain the installation process before work begins.
If any issues arise during installation, the team will document the situation and contact our office so it can be resolved quickly.
If you have questions before installation day, you are always welcome to contact our team at support@groundedfox.com.

Option 2 Self assembly with free delivery
Ideal for hands-on projects or if you already have a builder or landscaper working on your garden.
Your pergola arrives as a flat pack kit with clear instructions, allowing you to assemble it at your own pace. Most customers complete installation with two people in around one day, depending on the size and configuration of the structure.
Delivery
Many of our pergolas are available from stock and can typically be delivered within 1–2 weeks.
Tools required
All structural components and fixings are included with your pergola. For safe assembly you will typically need:
- Power drill
- Socket set or spanners
- Spirit level
- Tape measure
- Step ladder
If installing onto porcelain tiles we recommend using a diamond drill bit.
Before you begin
Before starting installation, ensure the surface is level and structurally suitable, lay out all components and read the installation guide fully. Having all tools prepared beforehand will help ensure a smooth assembly process.
